Silicone

Silicone-based adhesives and coatings are popular materials in various industries due to their unique properties and numerous benefits. These include the ability to withstand extreme temperatures, weather resistance, elasticity, water repellency, excellent electrical insulation, low toxicity and odour, transparency and clarity, biocompatibility, and good resistance to many chemicals, oils and solvents. They also provide easy application and curing which provides convenience and flexibility during the manufacturing process. Silicone-based applications are widely used in the aerospace, automotive, construction, electronics, medical and healthcare, and marine industries. Their flexible properties make silicone-based coatings particularly beneficial in applications where movement and vibration are present.

Acrylic

Acrylic adhesives and coatings offer a combination of performance properties that make them a popular choice for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. Their main benefits include rapid curing times, high strength bonds between a diverse range of materials, good resistance to UV, moisture and temperature variations, the ability to withstand vibration, impact and thermal expansion, and excellent electrical insulation. Acrylic adhesives and coatings are widely used for applications in automotive, construction, medical, industrial, packaging and electronics sectors.

Natural rubber

When used for adhesive formulations, natural rubber provides good tackiness and adhesion to a variety of substrates, making it suitable for bonding different materials, including paper, plastics, and metals. Therefore, it is commonly used in pressure-sensitive adhesives, which are widely found in everyday items like tapes, labels, and stickers. Natural rubber can also be used in coatings to provide a flexible and durable finish that adheres well to surfaces, protecting them from environmental factors, abrasion, and moisture.

Synthetic rubber

Synthetic rubbers often provide improved performance in specific conditions and have a wider range of properties compared to natural rubber, which can make them more suitable for certain applications. They are often used in combination with other polymers, resins, and additives to tailor their properties to specific requirements. Some of the most common synthetic rubbers used in adhesives and coatings include Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Nitrile Rubber (NBR), Neoprene (chloroprene rubber) and Butyl Rubber (IIR). Performance properties can include abrasion resistance, flexibility, durability in high chemically harsh and extreme environments, flame resistance and impermeability of gaseous or liquid substances. Applications are widely used in automotive, aviation, marine, industrial and construction sectors.
