Paul ArmittEaster is upon us and I can hear many of you sigh… ‘at last’. Yes, it’s a late one this year but hopefully, it will bring an opportunity to relax and to enjoy some well earned family time. It may even bring a little respite from the relentless media coverage and political infighting over Brexit!

Itac, like most manufacturing businesses, now has contingency plans in place, including additional raw materials set aside. This will undoubtedly help if and when it ever finally happens. However, I am concerned that the on-going uncertainty and the recently agreed ‘flextension’ will inevitably lead to an eventual slowdown.

Currently, I am pleased to say that the picture is very different. Counter intuitively, Itac, like many other businesses, is thriving. Enquiries from all sectors keep flowing in and we continue to convert more and more into orders, which our new factory wastes no time in processing.

The continued requirements for our adhesives and coatings tell me that UK manufacturers are busy and importantly they like what Itac has to offer. This is good news indeed… and there’s more – just twelve months after joining forces with expert roofing and guttering service partner HD Sharman, Itac’s Delvemade division is seeing a real growth in demand for its Seamsil and Delcote products, which is forecast to continue as the year progresses.

On these very optimistic notes, may I take this opportunity to wish all our customers, suppliers and friends the joys of a very Happy Easter.

Thanks as always for your comments, please keep them coming.

Unravelling web of mystery behind spider adhesive, could prevent paint from peeling

Unravelling web of mystery behind spider adhesive, could prevent paint from peeling

Formulation, Inside the Science

We have all seen wall paint peeling in places where high humidity is present. Every chemist knows the reason is Interfacial water. It forms a slippery and non-adhesive layer between the adhesive and the surface to which it is meant to stick, interfering with the formation of adhesive bonds between the two. Overcoming the effects […]
